About Us

The Oak Run Genealogy Club is located in a beautiful 55+ Community near Ocala in North Central  Florida.   The club is open to all residents of Oak Run.  There are currently about 50 members.

We encourage the hobby, some say, the obsession, with genealogy by meeting regularly to exchange ideas and information about our own research.  

Some members have mentored residents just beginning the work on their ancestors and all new members receive a “getting started” folder containing common forms and sources to use in research.

While we are not affiliated as a club with any genealogy organizations we encourage our members to participate in local, state and national genealogy organizations. 

Several of our ladies are very active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and other members belong to the Marion County Genealogical Society.
